Information
The UNESCO Chair of Quality Education and Training of Specialists for Sustainable Development at the University of Management TISBI was established on November 9, 1998 based on an agreement between Federico Mayor, the UNESCO Secretary General and Nella Pruss, Rector of the University of Management TISBI.
As a member of the UNITWIN program, the Chair is one of the 65 UNESCO chairs in the Russian Federation and the first in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The general ideology of the UNESCO Chair of the University of Management TISBI is the quality of training and the improvement of the learning process, the use of effective technologies aimed at an adult audience.
Composition of the Chair:
- leading specialists of the University of Management "TISBI";
- scientists of the Republic of Tatarstan;
- representatives of government agencies, business communities and public organizations of the Republic.
Direction chosen by "Training and retraining of specialists in a market economy" Chair is unique among other Russian UNESCO Chairs.
Tasks of the Chair:
- organization of permanent courses, summer schools for training, retraining and improvement of adult education;
- organization of additional professional education courses for students in order to ensure their competitiveness in the labor market;
- research work on sharing the experience with other countries in the field of training and retraining of specialists in a market economy and on studying the labor market of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Every year, under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair, the university hosts international scientific and practical conferences and seminars, student forums, round tables attended by prominent figures of science, culture and education from around the world, representatives of foreign embassies and consulates, members of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia.
