A series of international expert seminars has been launched at the University of Management "TISBI".
Seminars was aimed at training a new generation of specialists capable of working in the international business environment and developing joint projects between Russia, the Republic of Tatarstan, Malaysia, and ASEAN countries.
The series of meetings was opened by the President of the University of Management "TISBI", Nella Matveevna Pruss. In her speech, she outlined the strategic direction of the university's international work: today, the task of higher education is not only to train a qualified specialist, but also to foster international thinking, entrepreneurial initiative, the ability to work in a different business and cultural environment, to negotiate, to find foreign partners, and to bring projects to a specific economic result.
In the 2026/2027 academic year, three joint educational programme groups have been formed at the University together with INTI International University (Malaysia) – two Bachelor's and one Master's. This model should allow students not only to receive an international-level education and the opportunity for dual diplomas, but also to acquire competencies that are in demand when implementing cross-border projects.
The first expert seminar was dedicated to the topic "Russia—Malaysia and ASEAN: promising sectors and the path from idea to the first international contract". The meeting's expert was Ekaterina Olegovna Latypova – Deputy Chairperson of the Malaysia-Russia Business Council, an active entrepreneur and expert in business development in Southeast Asia and Malaysia.
"One of the key problems in the development of cooperation between Russia and Malaysia and ASEAN countries remains a shortage of personnel with the necessary international, managerial, communication, and entrepreneurial competencies. This is precisely why it is particularly important that such training is being developed at university level today. "We expect this educational project to yield tangible personnel results for joint Russian-Malaysian initiatives and businesses entering the Southeast Asian markets."Ekaterina LatypovDeputy Chairperson of the Malaysia-Russia Business Council, entrepreneur, expert in business development in Southeast Asia and Malaysia
This thesis became one of the central points of discussion. Today, companies need specialists who understand not only economics and management, but also the specifics of the international market: business culture, negotiation peculiarities, mechanisms for entering foreign markets, logistics, promotion, and building long-term business relationships.
For "TISBI", this task has particular practical significance. The university is systematically building personnel training for the first time, directly supporting the development of Russian-Malaysian cooperation and interaction with ASEAN countries. This is not only about academic training, but also about the development of practical competencies necessary for international projects, export teams, joint ventures, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
Malaysia is viewed not only as a separate destination for international cooperation but also as one of the promising points of entry for Russian companies into the dynamically developing Southeast Asian market. In this regard, interaction between the university and the entrepreneurial community of the Republic of Tatarstan, international experts, and business representatives is of particular importance.
The cycle of international expert seminars will be continued. The following meetings will also focus on practical issues of project implementation with Malaysia and ASEAN countries, involving representatives of the business community of the Republic of Tatarstan and international partners.
The main objective of the project is to train specialists who can professionally represent Tatarstan and Russia in the international market, create joint projects, and ensure the sustainable development of economic cooperation with Malaysia and ASEAN countries.
