2027 Declared the Year of Mintimer Shaimiev in Tatarstan
Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, made the announcement during his annual address to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In January 2027, Mintimer Shaimiev, the first President of Tatarstan, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, will turn 90. The decision was made in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the establishment and development of the Republic.
This occasion holds special significance for the University of Management “TISBI”. In 2027, the University will also celebrate the 35th anniversary of its founding. TISBI was established by Nella Pruss in 1992, and its main building was opened in 2005 with the participation of Mintimer Shaimiev.
For many years, the University and the first President of Tatarstan have shared a commitment to education, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the development of international cooperation. Mintimer Shaimiev took part in UNESCO conferences and forums hosted by TISBI, supported the University’s educational initiatives, and particularly highlighted the contribution of Nella Pruss to the promotion of UNESCO’s principles.
