Meeting of the Republican Interuniversity Centre for Persons with Disabilities

Extended meeting was held at the University of Management “TISBI”.

The Centre was established by the initiative of the Rectors’ Council of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2013. It united the universities of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to interact, pool resources and coordinate activities which aimed at the development of inclusive education, career guidance, vocational education, employment of people with disabilities.

The Agenda was the results of the decade-long work and future plans for the development of the Centre.

Among the participants were the representatives of 13 universities of the Republic, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry for Youth and Sports, Dmitry Polyakov, Rector of the University of Management “TISBI”, etc.

Nella Pruss, Chairperson of the Commission for Inclusive Education of the Rectors’ Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of the Centre, President of the University of Management “TISBI”, gave the official welcome speech.

Elena Melina made a presentation about Centre’s activities. She pointed out activity model of the Centre, statistics concerning students and graduates for the last 10 years and annual project activities of the Centre.

The Centre has actively cooperated with Abilympics since 2021.

At the end of the meeting the partners agreement were signed between Centre for the Development of Professional Competencies for the development of Abilympics with the Republican Interuniversity Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Kazan State Institute of Culture, The University of Management “TISBI”, the Republican library for the visually impaired.
