Skills Development amid the COVID-19 Pandemic was Discussed at UNESCO’s Weekly Webinar

Unesco 17 may 2020

Elena Aleksandrova, PhD, Head of the Department of Vocational Education Technologies, Deputy Head of the UNEVOC Center at the University of Management “TISBI”, participated in the UNESCO’s weekly webinar about the educational dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the online-meeting the participants shared experiences in tackling the immediate and longer-term challenges of the COVID-19 crisis on TVET and skills development systems.

This situation makes it imperative to increase the role of the UNEVOC Centers in order to share practices in distance learning and enhance the effectiveness of TVET institutions. The UNEVOC Centers should become a generator and coordinator of ideas, and disseminate TVET ideas at the regional level.
