Unesco 24 december 2021

Sergey Lavrov, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, said a special word about the work of the University of Management “TISBI” at the session of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

The University of Management “TISBI” has been participating in three programs of UNESCO: UNESCO ASPnet, International UNESCO Chair and UNESCO-UNEVOC for many years. Nella Pruss, the president and the founder of TISBI, is an ASPnet National Coordinator in the Russian Federation.

National Council of UNESCO APnet and Nella Pruss, its National Coordinator, have done a great job under pandemic conditions. With their participation, there has been a smooth exchange of practical experiences in adapting distance learning. I am sure in a post-COVID era their experience will be much in demand. In 2020 the University of Management “TISBI” has launched the initiative to create a Platform for distance and digital education of UNESCO ASPnet teachers. According to the initiative all the members of the Network are able to learn the application of digital tools and distance technologies. The members also can share their experience. This Platform is useful not only for members of UNESCO ASPnet, but non-members as it contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, especially the SDG 4: ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Sergey Lavrov, in his statement, said that Kazan will host the 45th session of World Heritage Committee in June 2022. The 50th anniversary of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage will be chaired by the Russian Federation.
