Foreign citizens who enter Russia must pass medical examination, fingerprinting and photographing.
According to the amendments to the Federal Law on Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation dated December 29, 2021, foreign citizens, entering for any purpose, must pass medical examination, fingerprint registration and photographing in the Russian Federation.
Foreign students, who enter the Russian Federation for more than 90 days, must undergo the procedures within 90 days from the date of entry into the Russian Federation. The foreign citizens, who enter the Russian Federation for the purpose of carrying out labor activity, should undergo the procedures within 30 days from the date of entry into the Russian Federation.
The procedures are held in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation at the place of migration registration.
The above-mentioned requirements for medical examination, fingerprinting and photographing do not apply to the following categories of foreign citizens:
