Unesco 09 june 2020

The main issue of the conference was the interaction of the UNESCO Chairs in order to focus on strategic planning and sustainable development.

Among the participants were Grigory Ordzhonikidze, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia, the Secretary-General of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, Andrey Rudskoy, the Rector of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU), Member of Russian Academy of Science, and Nella Pruss, the Rector of the University of Management “TISBI”, Member of the Coordinating Committee of UNESCO Chairs in the Russian Federation and ASPnet National Coordinator in the Russian Federation.

The University of Management “TISBI” has been cooperating successfully with UNESCO for more than 20 years. TISBI is the only University in the world that participates in three international educational programs of UNESCO: UNITWIN – UNESCO Chairs, UNESCO Associated Schools Network, UNESCO – UNEVOC Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. The International UNESCO Chair of the University is one of 65 UNESCO Chairs in Russia and the first in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Unlike numerous programs and projects, operating in Russia, a unique project has been realized at the Republic of Tatarstan. The University of Management “TISBI” takes an active part in the implementation of activities of International UNESCO Networks. The successful implementation of three activities depends on proactive participation of all stakeholders. Nella Pruss Rector of the University of Management “TISBI”

During the conference, the speakers shared their experience in the organization of UNESCO Chairs’ activities at their Universities. And furthermore, the need for interaction between UNESCO Chairs and population to preserve the heritage was raised. In realities of today, it was not without discussion of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digitalization of Education. During the COVID-19 pandemic the system of education was tested for distance learning.

The University of Management “TISBI” has been using the technologies for distance education since early 2000. The University with the help of UNESCO Chair has developed and implemented an Integrated University Management System (ISU VUZ). Thus, the transition of educational process from on site to online environment was not a problem for TISBI. ISU VUZ is used for planning and organization of educational process. It helps to guide the learning experience of students individually, organize and control the work of teachers and educational establishment in general.

The UNESCO Chair of the University of Management “TISBI” became an innovation center for development, testing and dissemination of best practices in distance learning and training teachers in this sphere.
