Participation in the Anniversary International Symposium
"Technology and Deaf Education"

On June 18 - 26, 2010 among the Russian delegation "Pen-Russia" representatives of the Academy of Management "TISBI" Rector Nella Pruss, Dean of the distant learning faculty Zakhariy Pekerman, Director of the Institute of continuous education Valentina Parubina, Director of the IT-center Dmitriy Pol'akov took part in the Anniversary International Symposium "Technology and Deaf Education" (http://www.rit.edu/ntid/vp/techsym/).

The symposium was held in Rochester (USA) by the international organization Pen-International (http://www.pen.ntid.rit.edu/) on the basis of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology (http: // www.ntid.rit.edu/).

The Pen-International Program "Concept of the regional network of post-school education for auditory handicapped people" is financed from the grant of "The Nippon Foundation of Japan". The symposium was aimed at resuming the experience of organizational aspects of education for hard-of-hearing people in the USA, China, Japan, Philippines, Poland, Czechia, Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. The forum presented the variety of approaches, methods and technologies in the organization of national systems of education for hard-of-hearing people as well as the unique experience of the leading educational institutions in some countries and regions.

Rector of the Academy of Management "TISBI" professor Nella Pruss in her report summed up ten years' work of the Academy in the field of hard-of-hearing students training and emphasized the importance of cooperation and experience exchange between the educational establishments of Russia and other countries, participating in the Pen-International organization.

Russian high schools taken part in the symposium planned some certain steps on formation of a united (interconnect) educational and informational space integrating resources of leading high schools and professional schools in educating physically handicapped people. Formation of a resource centers network for this purpose will allow to an invalid living in any region of our country, through the nearest resource center (a high school or a professional school) to receive education on a chosen specialty in any high or professional school, included in a network.

For a program basis of the information educational space it was offered to take complexes "DAO TISBI" and "ISU VUZ" (dao.tisbi.ru, isu.tisbi.ru), elaborated by TISBI's specialists.

The basic ideas of the symposium in the near future will be realized in the activity of the District Methodical Center on training invalids and in technologies of educating hard-of-hearing students at the Academy of Management "TISBI".
