"UNESCO TEACHER" TRAINING COURSES

On June 7-12, 2010 the advanced training courses for teachers were held at the Academy of Management "TISBI"

Advanced training courses for teachers on a special program "UNESCO Teacher" were organized at the International UNESCO Chair "Training and retraining of specialists in the market economy conditions" in the framework of the project "Associated UNESCO Schools" in cooperation with the Institute of Continual Education at the Academy of Management "TISBI".

The project of the courses was elaborated by the officials of the International UNESCO Chair of the Academy of Management "TISBI" and it was recognized to be one of the best at the presentation of the projects of the "VOLGA" region Associated UNESCO Schools, held in Moscow in autumn 2009 within the framework of the Russian Educational Forum "Modernization of the Russian Education as a Factor for Social Development".

The courses were intended for heads of educational institution and teachers, educational specialists, working in the sphere of international cooperation. Teachers from the "VOLGA" region Associated UNESCO Schools, as well pedagogues and specialists from Tatarstan schools of general and specialized education became the attendances of the training courses.

Executive Director of the International UNESCO Chair, Vice Rector for International Cooperation Lilia T. Miftakhutdinova acquainted the participants of the courses with the structure, activity directions and main principles of the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), spheres of action and public work of the International UNESCO Chair "Training and retraining of specialists in the market economy conditions" at the Academy of Management "TISBI".

Coordinator of the "Associated UNESCO Schools" project in the "VOLGA" region Natalia B. Larionova introduced to the attendances the "Associated UNESCO Schools" project in itself and the characteristics of the UNESCO Teacher statute.
An important distinctive point of the training courses was first-hand experience interchange on the issues of united work of school tutors with pupils, parents, as well as with local public organizations in "Associated UNESCO Schools" projects implementation.

In the framework of the courses there was held a meeting with Olga N.Avksentyeva - Head of the Architecture and City-Planning Department at the Kazan city Executive Committee (Kazan city Adminisration). She informed the audience about the work carried in Kazan on the preservation of the architectural and cultural heritage objects.

Discussions on the issues of world heritage objects and environment preservation had an applied character. Under the direction of the Head of Social and Cultural Service and Tourism Department Elvira R.Sadykova the participants visited the State History and Architecture Preserve - Open Air Museum "Kazan Kremlin", which is the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Objects, the Virgin Monastery of Raifa and the "Sviyazhsk-Island City". Research fellows of the Volga-Kama Region State Landscape and Nature Preserve made a tour to its Arboretum and the Museum of Nature.

Specialist of the Psychological Centre at the Academy of Management "TISBI" Farida Z. Vildanova gave a number of trainings on a team formation, effective communication methods in education, psychological and pedagogical principles of projects implementation. "TISBI" IT-Centre employees made a presentation on internet educational recourses as a way of extending cooperation in the academic field. Vice Rector for Social work with students Louisa M. Sedova, Associate professor Vitaliy A. Epshtein and Head of the "Legion" Patriotic organization gave lectures and made presentations devoted to tolerance, human rights respect, formation of a citizen in a civil society, patriotic training at school and youth subcultures.

Members of the Expert Centre on Heritage, functioning at the Academy of Management "TISBI", presented an international joint project "Awareness Raising and Capacity Building for Protection of Cultural, Historic and Natural Heritage as a Part of Social Transformation in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Federation", carried out at "TISBI" in association with Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR) and the Foundation Wageningen International Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Leisure (WICE-SL) (The Netherlands).

With this advanced training courses "UNESCO Teacher" completed all the participants were awarded certificates of the International UNESCO Chair and diplomas of competency at the Institute of Continual Education.
