Club of American Studies "Columbia" holds its first Session

On April 2, 2010 at the Academy of Management "TISBI" a new established Club of American Studies "Columbia" held its first session devoted to the Olympic Games - 2010 in Vancouver.

"TISBI" Students from different years, faculties and specialties took part in the session led by Evgenia A. Beljaeva and Irina S. Solodkova, teachers of the Philology Chair. The most interesting talk was made by Lilia F. Ahmadeeva, the eye-witness of all events and ambiguous referees' decisions occurred at the Olympic Games.

Says Masha Savushkina, the 3d year "TISBI" student, the participant of the session: "I am very delighted with the experience of participation in the session, it surpassed all my expectations. Everybody spoke only in English, there were interesting issues for discussion and the atmosphere was very friendly. I am certainly going to visit all sessions".

Alexander Motorygin, 5th year student: "Personally for me it's a great opportunity to advance my English skills. At last there emerged the opportunity to communicate to interesting people and to share impressions at first hand".
