The Faculty of Humanities

The Faculty has the following Departments:
- Humanities Department ,
- Philosophy Department,
- Philology Department,
- International Relations Department,
- Physical Training Department.
To become "specialists in the sphere of international relations"
students major in "International relations" 350200 for 5 years. Post-graduate
studies are also available.
The Faculty provides enhanced study of modern international relations, national
security and foreign policy of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan
and other countries, of foreign languages, such as English, German, French,
Arabic, Turkish and Japanese.
Graduates of the Academy can be employed in any state, joint stock and private
enterprises dealing with international cooperation occupying the positions of:
- consultant in the sphere of international relations;
- interpreter / translator, consultant-interpreter speaking two foreign languages;
- international relations expert;
- international cooperation and foreign policy analyst;
- political consultant;
- journalist-specialist in international affairs;
- lecturer;
- researcher / scholar,
- professors of Kazan, Moscow, Canada, the USA and the Netherlands.
Education you acquire at the Faculty is on the highest level of world standards.
And it is the best way to succeed in any state, social or commercial enterprise.
The main educational program of training international relations specialists
is directed to the study of international relations system, the most important
international organizations and associations, problems and tendencies of world
policy development, questions of national security and foreign policy of Russia
and other countries in order to develop scientifically proved practical recommendations
on the performance of various authority bodies of the Russian Federation in
the sphere of international relations.

The Faculty of Humanities is one of the youngest faculties at the Academy.
The first graduates left it in 2002. Senior students have practical work and
pre-diploma practice at the Department of International Relations of the Republic
of Tatarstan (the RT), State Council of the RT, Ministry of Trade and Foreign
Affairs of the RT, Consulate General of the Turkish Republic in Kazan, Committee
for Children and Youth of the RT, Committee of Foreign Economic Relations at
Administration of Kazan, KAZAN-IMPEX, Customs of Kazan, Joint Stock Company
"Kazan Fair".
State Attestation Committee acknowledged that students have ample theoretical
knowledge satisfying the requirements of the specialty "International Relations".
Club of Arabic language "Oasis", clubs of Russian Literature, Tatar,
English languages, club of "Philosophy and Life" are available for
students at the Faculty.
Such holidays as "Halloween", St. Valentine's Day, Mothers' Day are
traditionally celebrated here. Students of the Faculty take part in an annual
Scientific and Practical Conference of young scientists and students. Members
of the Faculty staff perform research work and take an active part at conferences
of different levels taking place both in the Republic of Tatarstan and abroad.
During their summer holidays students go to Germany, Great Britain and the
United States of America thus combining their rest with studies. Specialists
from foreign countries, such as the USA, Canada, Japan, etc., deliver lectures
and conduct classes at the Faculty. During 1999/2000 academic year students
had an additional course "USA Foreign Policy" which was delivered
by Professor of Political Sciences and International Relations Tom Travis (Becknell
University, Pennsylvania, the USA) During 2001/2002 academic year Melissa Graves,
Master in Foreign Policy and International Economics (graduated from J.Hopkins
University, Washington, the USA) was invited to the Academy to give the additional
courses "Problems of Globalization" and "European Integration".
Students wishing to study Japanese were lucky to have Sakadzuma Kimihiko (graduated
in March, 1992 from the Faculty of Law of Asakhi University, Japan, and in March,
1995 from the Institute of Russian Language in Tokyo, Japan) as their teacher,
who had been invited for two years in the framework of collaboration with the
Association "Japan - countries of Eurasia".
