Structure and facilities
The Academy of Management "TISBI" is one the first non-state universities
in Russia located in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Since
1992 it has grown into a fast expanding educational complex comprising kindergarten,
school, academy (undergraduate and postgraduate study) and the Institute of
Continuous Education for adult learners.
In total, TISBI serves more than 8 thousands students. Two spacious interconnected
buildings of the Academy, located 5 minute walk away from the lively downtown
of Kazan, are currently Alma Mater to about 1.5 thousand students. Both buildings
are well equipped with modern teaching technology: two conference halls with
100 and 350 capacity with multi media projector, four computer laboratories
with 36 work stations with access to the Internet, and a special computerized
class for students with hearing disabilities.
The Institute of Continuous Education is located in a nearby building and serves
approximately 1500 students each year. There is also a computer class with 10
workstations.
In addition to that three accredited branches located in other major cities
of Tatarstan are home to 4300 full time and extramural students.
Strive for excellence
TISBI's multiple achievements in the past 14 years testify to its constant
strive for further development. In 2005 TISBI, formerly Tatarstan Institute
for the Promotion of Business (hence, Russian abbreviation TISBI) has become
the only non-state institution of higher learning to acquire the status of an
Academy. As a result of highly professional performance of the teaching staff
TISBI was the second best institution among non-state universities in Russia
in 2005 (rating conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian
Federation, 2005) and is continuously among the top hundred best institutions
of Russia. A number of other rewards also testify to TISBI's excellence rewards
also testify to TISBI’s excellence.
International cooperation
to active international cooperation with other universities and institutes
in Russia and abroad, TISBI is always at the cutting edge of educational innovations.
Early educational exchanges and visits of foreign lecturers allowed TISBI to
recognize the need for moving towards international standards in education.
TISBI was one of the first institutions of Tatarstan which joined European educational
integration process commonly referred to as the Bologna process.
Annual international conference held by the Academy is also a significant event,
which brings to Kazan researchers and practitioners from all over Russia and
other countries. Up to 200 participants from 15 Russian cities and two other
countries have participated in the last highly successful conference in 2007
devoted to human capital development and innovation in Russia.

- International UNESCO Chair in the region was established in TISBI. The Chair
facilitates research in education and promotes information and experience
exchange among educational practitioners
- First prize in the national competition "University System of Educational
Quality Control"
- More than two thirds of the faculty have PhD degrees and higher
- TISBI is the first higher educational institution that provides students
with hearing disabilities with an opportunity to get higher education.
